- The official announcement of second-phase TD-SCMDA equipment bid results, which were supposed to be announced on October 30, was postponed, according to a report by the National Business Daily of China.
However, the National Business Daily quoted industry sources saying that Datang was one of the major winners of the tender. Meanwhile, China Mobile is expected to invite the third-phase TD-SCDMA equipment bids some time next year, according again to National Business Daily.
- China Mobile announced on October 24 that it has begun to invite bids for antennae for use in TD-SCDMA base stations, Sohu News reported on October 31. It is reported that 5-8 companies expressed interest in bidding for the antennae. Additionally, China Mobile also stated that all products participating in the bidding should have a recommendation by provincial subsidiaries of China Mobile, according to the same source.
